I lead the development and execution of the graphic identity for Robot, an advertising consultancy within the SpringHill Company, where I came up with a full design system and solidified the logo design. Our team was inspired by the excitement of the early tech stylings of Susan Kare, Paul Rand, Apple Macintosh and MS-DOS. The italicizing, not used in early tech, nods to the future through forward motion. SECONDARY LOGO The secondary logo references early internet graphics, 8 bit nostalgia and telecommunication logos as a nod to how Robot delivers ideas. The narrative behind The Kid Laroi’s outfits and concert experience was highlighting a duality that can be found in his latest album. Naturally, we built our design and visual language around the two outfits, and created two different worlds as the Laroi’s battled head to head. The execution ended up being a teaser video where each of the Larois was trying to recruit viewers on to their side. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; SEEDING KITS To continue the narrative of The Kid Laroi “recruiting” fans to join either of his sides we also sent different streamers and influencers one of a kind seeding kits which featured secret blacklight messaging (a black light flashlight), a CD with the hero teaser, a portable CD player, one of a kind t-shirts, sunglasses and a secret poster encased inside the CD cover. Having had immense success with their anime collabs, Fortnite chose a fast-paced, hypercolor, Neo-Tokyo-inspired theme for the newest season. Fitting to this theme, our team decided to create a hyper anime intro to excite the public. Since every anime intro has to have an iconic track, we tapped Japanese label 88Rising and their band ATARASHII GAKKO! to use the song WOO! GO! in the background. We also took the new characters and transformed them into gifs inspired by classic, often over exaggerated, anime tropes.
